Welcome to Year 2

Mother Teresa (Saint)

Fortitude (Virtue)

P.E day is Wednesday. Please ensure that children attend school in their full P.E kit. Thank you.

Hello everyone! My name is Mr. Walton, and I am so excited to be your teacher this year at OLSB. I joined this excellent school just over two years ago, and every moment here has been incredible.

A little bit about me: I grew up attending Catholic schools, starting with St. Francis Catholic Primary and moving on to St. Bede's Catholic Secondary. These schools instilled a strong sense of community and a love for learning, which I am eager to pass on to you.

Before I became a teacher, I worked with children and adults with mental health issues. This experience taught me a lot about patience, empathy, and understanding each person's unique needs. It was a fulfilling job, but my true calling was in teaching. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work in special education schools and behaviour specialist schools, and I even taught in Spain for a short while. Each experience has enriched my teaching and brought me here to share my knowledge and passion.

I love teaching all subjects, but if I had to pick a favourite, it would be science. When I was a kid, I dreamed of becoming a forensic scientist. Although my path led me to teaching instead, I still carry that curiosity and excitement for discovering how things work. I can't wait to share some fantastic science experiments with you this year!

On a personal note, my wife and I have a delightful three-year-old daughter who keeps us on our toes. She’s full of energy and wonder, much like many of you, and she’s constantly reminding me of the joy and adventure of learning new things.

When I'm not teaching or spending time with my family, you'll probably find me playing or watching football, though I enjoy most sports. It's a great way to relax and stay active, and I'm always up for a friendly competition, no matter the sport.

I look forward to getting to know each of you and helping you achieve great things this year. We'll explore new topics, tackle challenges, and celebrate our successes. Let’s make this school year the best one yet!
