Year 2 - St. Anthony Class
This term Year 2 will be comparing and contrasting different versions of "The Three Little Pigs" fairy tale and we are going to have a go at writing a version of it ourselves. We will also be learning about how to write explanation texts and the children will be writing an explanation about something that they are interested in, to share with others.
Maths in Spring term will continue to focus on understanding place value in numbers to 100 and using this to add and subtract. We will revise and use bonds to 10 in addition and subtraction and will be identifying 3D shapes and their properties.
Our new RE topic is 'The Good News' where we will be listening to the Bible stories where Jesus used his power to help others and reflecting on the importance of these events. We will learn how Jesus brought the good news of God's love to others, changing sadness into joy, and reflect on what this means for us.
In Science we will be exploring living things and their habitats and discovering what different animals need to survive.
